This is a loving letter to all of the graduates of the YUJMU trainings, beautiful souls who have taken the deeper plunge into Yin Yoga and becoming a teacher. I am also writing this to anyone out there who has love in their heart but may be nervous to teach.

You Are Magnificently Unique

This seems a simple cliche but it is the most profound idea with the deepest spectrum of ramifications.

Ponder it, noone has ever or will ever be you [say your name] in all of the world. In all past times noone was you, in all future times to come noone will be you again and in all dimensions of any multiverse you are the one and only you.

You are therefore the unquestionable authority of you, noone can say anything that can out-you you.

You are manifested by whatever you believe manifested you because that manifester wanted to experience you through you.  You can do nothing else but be you in any choice that you make and that is more than enough.

Remember this, because when you teach from you and explain that you are teaching from you then your qualification is without doubt.

What Is Teaching Really

Teaching is the practice/process of bringing others to the above realization; that they are magnificently unique.  This essentially is the journey of life but everyone exists in their life the only way they can, as they are.

On a practical level, teaching is simply introducing students to information and experiences that they then navigate in their own ways. By doing this they learn what they like or don’t like, what they gravitate to or feel they have a predisposition to. Underlying this education/teaching process it becomes more and more clear how each student uniquely deals with what they are presented with.

We sometimes, maybe oftentimes, misunderstand teaching and education to be about the content, it is not about the content.

The content we teach is merely a vehicle. Teaching and education is about each individual student.

So Why Should You Learn To Teach?

So you are thinking about teaching or never thought about teaching and you are asking β€œWhat does this have to do with why I should teach?”

The answer is simple; because there are people out there in this world drawn to every imaginable way of teaching.  If you know how you unique you are and you teach from that place in your heart then there is someone who will benefit from that.

It is not about trying to make them like you or getting them to know what you know but it is to show yourself being authentically you.

Being you in front of students, being transparent with your β€œflaws”, letting the damage life places on us that make us unique be your strengths. All of this helps you relate to your students and helps them relate to you. Teaching is a practice of empathy and inhabiting your student’s perspectives. people can learn how to be authentically themselves.

The world needs people to find themselves, the world needs teachers like you because there are students similar to you, students who will uniquely relate to you and learn from you.

Wrapping Up | TL;DR

Stay connected to what sensations you feel in the moment, feel the feels without labels or judgements and help others to do the same for themselves.

There is a unique experience of this moment in each of us and if we see others who can live from their unique moment then we can learn to do it too.

Maintain your presence in the unfiltered moment and teach from your unfiltered self.  My heart knows that others need you to share your heart-teachings so give it a go,

you are more ready than you know.
