What are the contact hours for the training?

The contact & non-contact hours vary based on 2 factors:

  1. The format you are enrolled in: The highest contact hours are usually in the Weeklong Immersions, there are more non-contact hours in the Weekend Modules.  So in addition to choosing what works for your schedule know that the emphasis in the module format is on home practice.
  2. The available times for space at the venue:  Each venue has widely differing class schedules that the training must work around.  Due to this contact hours must accordingly vary.

The program generally aims for about 70 contact and 30 non-contact hours.  Inquire to get specifics about the venue you will be attending.

Can I get Yoga Alliance Credits?

YUJMU has no affiliation with Yoga Alliance but our understanding is that you can still apply for CE credits.  If this is a deciding factor for you please inquire directly with Yoga Alliance for details.  We are looking into aligning with YA for 2019.

Will I get a Certificate?

Yes, you will be given a certificate of completion recognizing you by YUJMU as a qualified Yin Yoga Teacher.

Will I Be able to teach?

Yes, you will have all of the skills and knowledge to be capable of teaching Yin Yoga.  We have previously managed a yoga studio in which we also led the Yin Program.  We hired Yin Yoga teachers and know what studios are looking for, if you keep up your training practices a solid demo is the key to getting hired by a studio.  You can also create your own opportunities at other venues or even at home.  We are happy to provide feedback anytime after or during the training to help you on your Yin teaching journey.
